    Assistant to the CEO (Part-Time, 20 Hours/Week M-F)

    Position Summary

    Our grassroots midcoast-Maine based nonprofit is seeking a detail-oriented part-time assistant to the Founder/CEO in a fast-paced work environment. The Assistant to the CEO will play a key role in communication and providing consistent and calm support for a broad range of projects and programs.

    This is a hands-on executive support role that requires excellent communication and writing skills and real-time task management. The CEO relies heavily on this position to navigate shifting priorities, urgent requests, and frequent pivots, making rapid execution and consistent availability by phone during working hours essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Be ready to check in with our CEO/Founder weekdays at 8 a.m.
    • Manage CEO's calendar.
    • Monitor and organize incoming emails.
    • Craft and send out effective email correspondence, plus draft newsletters and press releases

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience in a lead, or leader-support role
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • High attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask
    • Professional, calm, and solution-oriented
    • Discrete and able to maintain confidentiality

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Leadership experience or experience supporting leaders
    • Familiar with the nonprofit world
    • Proficient with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs)
    • Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate needs and problem-solve
    • Marketing, social media, and graphic skills a plus

    Schedule & Work Environment

    • Monday through Friday - Mornings and occasional early afternoons
    • Flexibility with schedule required
    • Remote, but ideally occasionally in-person at the midcoast-Maine home office
