    Description

    Position Overview

    The Data Manager plays a critical role in maintaining and strengthening NEW’s data infrastructure, contract compliance systems, and reporting processes. This position supports the organization’s ability to track program performance, meet funder requirements, and make data-informed decisions.

    Working cross-functionally with Programs, Development, Finance, and Operations, the Data Manager ensures data integrity, supports audit readiness, and optimizes Salesforce (Nonprofit Success Pack – NPSP) to align program outcomes with contract deliverables and organizational priorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    CRM & Data Systems Management

    • Serve as the organization’s Salesforce NPSP Administrator, managing system configuration, customization, and ongoing optimization.
    • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and workflows to support program tracking and organizational performance.
    • Develop and implement automations that improve efficiency and reduce manual data entry.
    • Ensure data quality through routine audits, validation rules, and data governance practices.
    • Manage user access, permissions, and system updates.
    • Maintain system documentation, including SOPs, data dictionaries, and user guides.

    Data Management & Governance

    • Establish and enforce data standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems.
    • Develop processes for data collection, entry, validation, and maintenance.
    • Monitor data integrity and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Lead data clean-up initiatives and ongoing database maintenance.
    • Support data security and confidentiality in alignment with organizational policies.

    Reporting & Data Analysis

    • Design and generate routine and ad hoc reports for program staff, leadership, and external stakeholders.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, performance insights, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
    • Support organizational learning by making data accessible and meaningful across teams.

    Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Train staff on Salesforce and data systems to ensure consistent and effective usage.
    • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for system users.
    • Partner with Program, Development, and Operations teams to align data systems with organizational needs.
    • Collaborate on system improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce administrative burden.
    • Contribute to organization-wide data strategy and continuous improvement efforts.
