    Description

    The Blosser Center for Dyslexia Resource is seeking part-time tutor candidates for our Summer 2026 structured literacy training program and the 2026–2027 school year.

    We are especially interested in retirees, former educators, college students, recent graduates, and other adults with meaningful after-school availability who want to help students learn to read.

    This role begins with training in structured literacy and leads to part-time tutoring during the school year. We are looking for candidates who are dependable, eager to learn, comfortable with basic technology, and interested in ongoing professional development.

    Summer 2026 Training Program

    • 12 hours asynchronous video training
    • 8 hours live training via Zoom: May 19, May 26, June 2, and June 23 from 6:00–8:00 PM
    • 60-hour in-person practicum: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–1:00 PM, June 29–July 24

    School-Year Commitment

    • Tutor 2 students Monday–Thursday between 3:00–6:00 PM
    • Approximately 8–10 hours per week during the 2026–2027 school year
    • Consistent participation in coaching and professional development

    Ideal candidates are:

    • available for the full summer training and practicum
    • able to tutor after school 4 days per week
    • interested in a meaningful part-time role
    • comfortable using Zoom and basic online tools
    • likely to remain with the program for more than one year
