    Description

    Christ Church Charlotte is seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled, and faith-aware Therapist and Wellbeing Educator to join our Center for Wellbeing and Care. This part-time role is an opportunity to help nurture emotional, relational, and spiritual health within a vibrant congregation of more than 6,000 members and in the wider community.

    This position blends counseling, education, and community connection, serving individuals, couples, families, and groups while helping expand the church’s holistic approach to wellness and healing.

    What You’ll Do

    Counseling & Care

      • Provide individual (teen–adult) counseling and support groups for parishioners
      • Assess, diagnose, and treat clients using sound clinical practices
      • Maintain ethical standards and confidential clinical records
      • Offer support in times of crisis, illness, or major life transitions
      • Provide referrals to regional clinicians and resources

    Education & Formation

      • Develop and share mental health and wellness resources
      • Lead workshops, presentations, classes, and support groups for all ages
      • Help evaluate the effectiveness of programs and track outcomes

    Navigation & Community Partnerships

      • Build and maintain a strong referral network of therapists, psychiatrists, and care providers
      • Connect individuals and families with appropriate professional and community resources
      • Collaborate with agencies, treatment centers, and helping organizations

    Ministry & Staff Life

      • Work collaboratively with clergy and ministry staff
      • Participate in weekly staff meetings
      • Help shape the church’s expanding vision for spiritual and mental wellbeing

    What We’re Looking For

      • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field
      • Current North Carolina license (LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD required — no associate licenses)
      • Minimum two years of postgraduate counseling experience
      • Ability to provide psychotherapy to individuals and groups
      • Strong communication skills for teaching and public presentations
      • Appreciation for integrating faith, spirituality, and emotional wellbeing
      • Desire to help grow a Center focused on healing, connection, and care
      • Familiarity with the Charlotte, NC, region a plus

    Position Details

      • Part-time, exempt (28 hours/week, Monday–Friday)
      • Occasional evening or Sunday programming
      • Office space and administrative support provided
      • Annual stipend toward professional liability insurance
