Overview

The Shepherd’s Center of Northern Virginia (SCNOVA) is a non-profit, volunteer-based, interfaith organization sponsored by area congregations and community groups to serve older persons in the Vienna, Oakton, Reston, Herndon and Great Falls areas of Northern Virginia. Our primary purpose is to provide services to assist older adults to continue to live independently in their own homes and to offer programs which supply opportunities for enrichment, learning and socialization.

The Shepherd's Center services include: medical transportation, companion transportation, friendly caller, friendly visitor, handy helper and record keeping assistance. In addition, we offer decluttering advice, health advocacy, and have a twice-monthly caregiver's support group. Educational programs include: t'ai chi, contract bridge, computer classes, health education, world and national affairs and lunch n' life programs and trips. The Center enhances the services that public or private agencies provide to seniors as participants and or volunteers.
