  • Mission

At Cha-Ami JCC, we believe in creating an inclusive environment for everyone to learn and celebrate Japanese art and culture. We offer a range of classes and services to build a strong and interconnected community. Our goal is to promote a shared appreciation for Japanese culture among all generations. Together, we can help create a more vibrant and connected future.

    About Us

Years ago, Yoko Breckenridge established a private Japanese Library in Minneapolis. Her library was a beloved gathering place. It's unexpected closure left thousands of books without a home. Cha Ami has created a new library in her honor. We currently have a collection of over 2000 books. The library is open to children and adults who can borrow books free of charge. We are seeking volunteers to manage our library. Tasks include cataloging books, organizing collections, and assisting visitors. Since many materials are in Japanese, we need volunteers who can read Japanese. No experience needed-just a love for books and community! Please join is in making Japanese literature more accessible.
