    Marion-Polk Food Share distributes over 8.2 million pounds of food annually through partnership with nearly 100 member direct-service charities that are working to serve hungry families, children and individuals in Marion and Polk counties.

    Marion-Polk Food Share's hunger-relief efforts focus on providing emergency food assistance and increasing self-sufficiency for families living with limited resources. Our mission to END hunger is accomplished with the support of the local community and through a variety of innovative programs.

    Emergency Food Box Program

    You and your family are hungry. Your community can help you through rough times. Marion-Polk Food Share's Emergency Food Box program feeds hungry individuals and families on an urgent-need basis. We provide healthy food to alleviate hunger throughout Marion and Polk counties through:

    • Direct distribution through neighborhood pantries • Direct distribution through mobile pantries at high need schools • Opening our warehouse to hunger-relief partners to cooler shop for fresh produce and dairy products The Emergency Food Box Program provides a 3-5 days emergency food supply to families and individuals in crisis. The Congregate Meal Site Program provides food to those in need on a regular basis as an integral part of their normal activities. This includes dining halls serving free meals, day care centers and shelters for foster care children, run-away children, and/or homeless families and individuals.
