About Us

1 million American children suffer from bipolar disorder. Untreated, they face increased risk of school failure, substance abuse, and suicide.

Early intervention can save lives; make a difference by helping us provide vital information and support to families, doctors, and the public.

CABF's mission is to educate families, professionals, and the public about early-onset bipolar disorders; support families to maximize the well-being of the child while minimizing the adverse impact of bipolar disorders on the family; and advocate for increased services to families and research on the nature, causes, and treatment of bipolar disorders in the young.

CABF’s website www.bpkids.org is an upbeat “virtual community center" for families raising children with (or at risk for) bipolar disorder.

Depressedteens.com is an educational site dedicated to helping teenagers and their parents and educators understand the signs and symptoms of teenage depression and bipolar disorder, and provide resources for those ready to reach out and get help.

Depressedteens.com is home to a weekly podcast for teens on living well with mood disorders, Flipswitch: the Bipolar and Depression Connection.
