    The purposes of the CHJCC are: to deal with matters of local or international concern to the community of Crown Heights and to be instrumental in effecting cooperation among the various Jewish organizations of such community.

    About Us

    The Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC) was created in 1969 in response to deteriorating social and economic conditions in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, with the mission of assisting all people of the the Crown Heights community with a focus on the rapidly growing Jewish population. Over the past fifty years, the CHJCC has developed a wide range of programs that addresses the issues of housing, health care and nutrition, job placement, adult education, at-risk youth, and crime. Currently, the CHJCC serves over 5,000 clients each year, providing vital assistance to residents and families in need.
