  • About Us

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is dedicated to promoting mental health recovery and wellness. Our purpose is to help everyone reach healthy lives – whether the need is recovery from mental illness or is occasional and caused by everyday life. Our message is simple – good mental health is fundamental to the health and well-being of everyone in Los Angeles County.

Founded in 1924, we are one of the county’s oldest nonprofit mental health organizations. MHA is an affiliate of the national Mental Health America and Mental Health America of California

With cornerstones of service, education, advocacy and training, MHA works to ensure that people with mental illness reach their rightful place as participating, productive members of our community. Our sites are located in Long Beach, Lancaster and Los Angeles.
