    WHO WE ARE

    I CAN is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), community based literacy organization founded by a former Hillsborough County Schools Adult Educator in 2002 to improve literacy in Hillsborough County. The organization is governed by a board of directors, financially directed by a certified public accountant, and managed by an executive director. I CAN Adult Learning Program opened in September 2003 to provide non-traditional, adult education services. In January 2007, I CAN opened an intensive education program for low-performing high school youth in collaboration with Hillsborough County Schools.

    OUR MISSION

    We empower adults and older youth by providing them high-quality, comprehensive education and training programs to enable them to succeed in higher education, the workplace, the community and in society.

    Youth Literacy Adult Basic Education GED Preparation Life Skills Workforce Readiness Computer Literacy Tutor Training Standardized Testing

    OUR LEARNERS

    Youth age 15 - 18 yrs old functioning below level Adults age 19 and older with & without a diploma Learners with low literacy & basic skills Majority Economically Disadvantaged Ethnically Diverse Employed, Unemployed & Under-skilled
