    Helping New Orleans animals since 2005. After Katrina, there were many loose animals in New Orleans who required immediate care. Big Easy Animal Rescue owner Brenda stepped in and opened her first non-profit petshop and rescue. We are a non-profit, all volunteer rescue group, who rescue, foster, provide medical care and love for abandoned and neglected animals. We are a LGBTQ+ friendly team.

    About Us

    100% of our Big Easy Animal Rescue Marigny petshop proceeds go to funding our rescue work. The petshop is unique because the cats roam freely during the day, getting socialization, love, and exercise, with a higher chance of adoption because they can show their personalities. Dogs are all placed in foster homes, but many fosters turn into adoptions. We work hard to advocate for spaying and neutering, and finance getting community animals fixed. Our bi-weekly, low-cost medical clinic is a resource for our community.
