Capital District Community Energy

1. to provide outreach, information and support for residents, businesses and other stakeholders of municipalities within the Capital Region as they explore energy efficiency, sustainable heating and cooling technology and other green initiatives to help NYS meet its clean energy goals
2. to help make clean and renewable energy accessible and affordable, for all residents, including those in low- and moderate-income communities.

We are one of the organizations receiving funding from NYSERDA - the NY State Energy Research and Development Authority - to run the Capital Region Clean Energy Hub. The Hub offers education and guidance to residents, landlords, non-profits and businesses on how to apply for NYS and utility subsidies for building energy efficiency and clean heating and cooling options (heat pumps). We stay on top of both state and federal opportunities, and work with contractors and other social service agencies to provide a helping hand in this often confusing landscape.
