About Us

A leadership and civic engagement program based at Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development, CEP has been inspiring and training students to become active, engaged citizens and helping educators provide quality service-learning opportunities for over 20 years.

Through innovative school-year and summer programs and online courses, CEP offers promising young people opportunities to learn and serve in communities across the country, developing the knowledge, experience, and leadership skills they need to make a positive impact on the world.

In addition to student programming, CEP offers custom-designed programs and curriculum for schools, and professional learning opportunities for educators.

See CEP's Social Justice Oriented Classroom to learn more about resources that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion for your classroom.

Since CEP's founding in 1997, over 7,500 students have participated in over 550 programs and courses and dedicated more than 200,000 total hours to service in host communities throughout the country.
