  • Mission

Our mission is to provide information, support and coordination of resources to empower and improve the quality of life of disadvantaged children and their families in a culturally sensitive environment.

    About Us

VCRC services are offered in both English and Spanish and are focused on prevention and the empowerment of families. We provides access to community events, resources, and focus on improving neighborhood conditions for families in East Contra Costa County. We achieve this by focusing on three main areas: education, health and social services.

Through internal programs as well as partnerships with high quality service providers, VCRC provides programs in the following areas: Youth Development, Family Leadership, and Health, while initiating strategic partnerships to create a networked East County nonprofit community. Internal programs include After School Academies (Brentwood and Byron) serving over 115 K-5th grade students annually, case management, and parent engagement. Our family leadership and organizing program builds leadership strengths within families enabling them to identify and work to address challenges with the community at large. VCRC’s strong collaborative relationships allow us to provide an array of quality services while being good stewards of the community’s resources. We bring mental health services, conversational English, basic medical care, and immigration workshops to our Brentwood site through these partnerships. Some of our partners include: John Muir Health, International Institute of the Bay Area, Fred Finch Youth Services, and Contra Costa Crisis Center.
