CFO

  • Mission

CFO is committed to supporting the recovery of people affected by mental health, homelessness, and substance use challenges. We offer those in recovery the guidance to move towards achieving their chosen personal and employment goals. We offer mentoring from those who have travelled similar paths to show that for everyone: even the smallest step can lead to success and that success waits behind every door.

    About Us

RPSV was founded in 2011 to support adults with mental health, substance abuse, and homelessness issues. We serve ~9,000 adults annually through our in-person Recovery Centers (in Annandale, Arlington, Merrifield, Reston, and South County Alexandria). We are now doing business as Centers For Opportunity (CFO).

At the Centers, we offer one-on-one and group support, access to benefits, employment services, recreational therapy, meals/snacks, and more.

CFO also offers 7+ free weekly virtual support groups.

CFO also has a successful Employment Services Division where candidates are assisted in finding meaningful and sustaining work.

CFO team members are all individuals who have gone through recovery. They serve as 'living role models' to participants that recovery is possible.

CFO relies on the peer support model (versus the medical model which focuses on medication and costly hospitalizations). The peer support model has been proven as effective as the medical model. And, for every person served by CFO, the counties of Fairfax or Arlington save thousands in related medical costs.

We are proud to serve the citizens of Northern Virginia! Learn more about CFO at www.centersforopportunity.org and please connect with us on social media.
