  • About Us

    Introduction

Imagine a world without heroes, where children would be without positive examples to aspire to, without ideals to guide them. There would be no brightly-colored characters to inspire us from the pages of our favorite fictional stories, while challenging our inherent desire to be something greater, something better. Thankfully, however, heroes do exist —in all of us. And we believe it is our purpose to help everyone discover the hero within.

    Our History

Established in 2017, Hero Nation was founded on the intersection of pop culture and social activism. Our goal is to create empowering and impactful experiences for marginalized communities through the engagement of participatory culture —specifically through superheroes, comic books and video games.

Since our founding, Hero Nation has served almost 400 community members —including youth—and raised approximately $22,000 in donations

    Our Mission

To help everyone discover the hero within through events and programs based in nerd culture that foster empowering, creative, and educational experiences for underserved and marginalized communities —including youth, people of color, LGBTQ people, people with disabilities, women, and people with low socioeconomic status.

    Our Vision

To create a world of heroes.
