    Boston Arts Academy, a public high school for the visual and performing arts, is starting its 24th year in September 2019 with 495 students in Grades 9-12. The school was established as a public/private partnership between the Professional Arts Consortium, Inc., (currently Berklee College of Music, the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Emerson College, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Architectural Center, and the New England Conservatory) and the Boston Public Schools. Boston Arts Academy is charged with being a laboratory and a beacon for artistic and academic innovation and prepares a diverse community of aspiring artist-scholar-citizens to be successful in their college or professional careers and to be engaged members of a democratic society.
