SJSU Pre-College Programs
One Washington Square
The SJSU Pre-College Program provides low-income, first-generation college aspirants academic support and guidance throughout their high school careers. We also emphasize the growth of the whole person including the development of critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and social responsibility. Our summer program is an intense, exciting, fast-paced six-week SJSU program that offers our students the opportunity to experience a university campus while taking a college prep class for high school credit. The project is seeking energetic, dynamic and highly effective tutors to provide tutoring on a one-to-one basis as well as group format. We are also seeking tutors who can assist in some extracurricular and program-related activities such as coordinating team-building, simple physical exercises, and meals. Tutors must be proficient in high school math through Algebra II and Math Analysis (Trig./Pre-Calc.). Tutors must also be sensitive to the needs of diverse, low-income, underserved high school students.
