About Reachers Foundation
Reachers Foundation is a local nonprofit organization in Cameroon that started it's operations in 2019 and was formally registered in 2022, dedicated to fostering social justice and empowering communities across the country. While we operate throughout Cameroon, our focus has been on the Northwest and Southwest regions, areas heavily impacted by ongoing conflict. Our commitment to these communities is driven by our mission to build resilience, promote gender equality, and create opportunities for marginalized groups to thrive despite challenging circumstances.
Mission and Values
Our mission is to create a fair and inclusive society where all individuals have equal access to rights, resources, and opportunities. At the core of Reachers Foundation is a commitment to gender equality, which drives our initiatives and partnerships. Our values include transparency, inclusivity, community empowerment, and resilience. We believe that lasting, positive change is possible when communities are directly involved in designing and implementing solutions to their own challenges.
Our Key Focus Areas
Whom We Serve
Reachers Foundation primarily serves women, youth, and minority groups, with an emphasis on supporting those affected by the conflict in the Northwest and Southwest regions. Our beneficiaries include internally displaced persons (IDPs), single mothers, people with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged individuals. We conduct comprehensive needs assessments to ensure our programs address the specific needs of each group effectively.
Our Impact
Since 2019, Reachers Foundation has:
Trained over 300 young women in sustainable income-generating skills, including textile crafts and hairdressing, while also providing them with seed capital and financial management training.
Engaged over 6,000 students in gender rights advocacy through debates, workshops, and outreach programs in schools across Cameroon.
Conducted community events and sensitization initiatives for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, in collaboration with universities, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies.
agricultural support: In collaboration with local farmers, we provide quality seeds and training in sustainable and innovative farming techniques. Our programs focus particularly on organic farming, supporting vulnerable groups, especially women, by supplying seeds and essential farm inputs to promote eco-friendly agricultural practices and boost food security.
education and gender awareness: Reachers Foundation runs outreach programs in schools across Cameroon, addressing various gender-related issues that go beyond gender-based violence (GBV). Our sessions cover topics from gender equality and rights to empowering young women in leadership and addressing challenges in different sectors. These engagements aim to foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and equality among youth.
Reachers Foundation is dedicated to expanding these initiatives and welcomes collaboration from partners and stakeholders who share our vision of a just, inclusive, and resilient society across Cameroon.
