  • Mission

We help individuals and families build resilience, create hope, and unlock their limitless potential.

Guided by our expertise and a deep respect for every individual’s journey, we have developed a connected network of schools, therapy and support, vocational pathways, residential living, social engagement, and lifelong learning programs—all designed to help children, teens, and adults, as well as those who care for them. Our multidisciplinary team provides specialized support for individuals with emotional struggles, learning differences, ADHD, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, and autism. Meeting everyone where they are, we respond to their unique circumstances with compassion and care, creating a foundation for lasting growth. Our pioneering approach opens doors to lives shaped by possibility, purpose, and the power of help.

    About Us

Help Group is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that has supported individuals and families across the lifespan for over 85 years. We serve children, teens, and adults with autism, learning differences, ADHD, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, and emotional struggles.

Our mission is to help neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals and their families build resilience, create hope, and unlock their limitless potential. Guided by deep expertise and respect for every individual’s journey, we’ve developed a connected network of schools and programs that meet people where they are—academically, emotionally, socially, and developmentally—and provide compassionate, personalized support.

Help Group is one of the nation’s most comprehensive organizations dedicated to education, mental health, and services that support cognitive, social, and emotional development. Our work spans six key areas, reaching 25,000 individuals each year:

    • Specialized Schools - Our schools provide inclusive instruction and therapeutic support that helps students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
    • Therapy and Support Services - Our compassionate, evidence-based mental health and supportive services help individuals and families overcome challenges and build resilience across home, school, and community settings.
    • Vocational Training and Employment Services - Our vocational programs foster independence and purpose by equipping teens and adults with the skills, experiences, and support needed to succeed in meaningful employment.
    • Arts and Recreation Programs - Our arts and recreation programs, including after-school enrichment, social clubs, and school break camps, creates joyful, inclusive spaces where neurodiverse youth and adults can explore interests and build friendships.
    • Residential Programs - Our residential programs offer safe, nurturing environments where youth and adults with developmental and emotional challenges receive comprehensive care that promotes growth, stability, and long-term well-being.
    • Knowledge Exchange - Our professional and parent education provides insight and support through professional conferences, parent education, and academic partnerships that advance research, training, and community understanding of neurodiversity.

Together, these services form a holistic ecosystem that fosters growth, belonging, and meaningful, independent lives.
