About Us

The Common Grain Alliance (CGA) is a nonprofit established in 2018 working to elevate regional grain and grain producers in the Mid-Atlantic. We envision an interlocking web of short farm-to-table grain value chains rooted in cultural foodways and serving all people equitably. To get there, we have started by connecting small- to midsize grain farmers with millers, bakers, brewers, and other producers, developing and distributing educational resources, and most recently, streamlining logistics. These steps are just part of our strategic plan to strengthen the non-commodity grain value chain and create a viable and equitable market for regional grain products. At this stage, we have outgrown our volunteer leadership team and are looking for the right person to take us closer to our vision.

CGA is an inclusive organization that embraces differences in backgrounds and values. We foster a compassionate and communicative culture and work to build a staff, membership, and network that fully represents the communities we live and work in. We particularly encourage applicants who can enrich and diversify our organization.
