    About Us

    Originally founded in 1988, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor (HFHGB) is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. There are over 1,600 local Habitat affiliates worldwide. The Habitat vision seeks to build strength, Stability and self-reliance through shelter.

    Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor serves the following communities:

    Bangor, Bradford, Bradley, Brewer, Carmel, Dedham, Eddington, Glenburn, Hermon, Holden, Hampden, Hudson, Kenduskeag, Levant, Milford, Newburg, Old Town, Orono, Orrington, Penobscot Nation, and Veazie and Winterport.

    Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor works in partnership with Mainers in need of safe, affordable housing. The homes are then sold to qualifying families based on ability to pay at a zero interest rate, allowing them to enjoy the pride and stability of home-ownership.
