The Kendrick Arts Group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustaining and strengthening the infrastructure of the performing arts field through foundation services, grant program stewardship, and professional support to composers, performers, and the organizations that fund them.

What We Do

Stewardship and Visibility of American Composers: We preserve, document, and advance awareness of American composers and their contributions to concert music through the stewardship of composer estates, archives, digital resources, and public-facing platforms that keep these artists visible and accessible to educators, performers, scholars, and the general public.

Strengthening Philanthropic Infrastructure for the Arts: We strengthen the field of contemporary concert music philanthropy by providing capacity-building services to private foundations whose missions advance music composition, performance, and education, thereby ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of arts grantmaking that would otherwise be disrupted.

Field Development and Professional Support: We advance the field of contemporary concert music by providing mentorship, technical assistance, and professional development to composers, performers, and music organizations through grant program administration, application feedback, and connection to resources.

Grant Program Stewardship: We administer and steward charitable grant programs on behalf of foundations supporting contemporary concert music, including the review, evaluation, and distribution of grants that support music creation, performances, and education, ensuring rigorous standards and mission alignment.

Research and Public Education: We conduct and disseminate research, publications, and educational programming about American composers, contemporary concert music practices, and effective arts philanthropy for the benefit of the public, educators, and the nonprofit sector.
