DTA has advanced groundbreaking reform on complex issues ranging from pesticides to companion animal cruelty and endangered species protection by:

1. Supporting advocates defending animals and their habitats at a local level;

2. Offering educational opportunities for students in animal and environmental law and policy; and

3. Developing work product that informs and strengthens advocacy initiatives.

Advocacy Led Initiatives When advocates need help isolating a problem, understanding law and policy, targeting decision makers, and navigating bureaucracy, we empower them with knowledge and personalized strategies to help maximize their efforts. When an animal or species' well-being is at stake, we tell their story and support efforts to ensure their interests are represented.

Student Advocacy Programs In addition to substantive knowledge and practical skills, we prepare students to recognize and effectively engage in the complex realities of animal and environmental law and policy, fueling a broader community of professional advocates.

Research and Policy Analysis We ask difficult questions, explore complexities, expose corruption and keep decision-makers accountable to animals and their habitats, to empower more informed strategy and systemic change.
