For more than 35 years the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) has remained committed to addressing the HIV/AIDS health crisis that spurred its creation. Today ASGCC’s life-sustaining services for HIV positive clients help them lead longer, healthier lives.
In recent years, opioid deaths on Cape Cod represent the fastest growing cause of death in Massachusetts. Throughout this epidemic, ASGCC has played a key role in fighting to save lives, training over 2500 community members in Narcan administration and saving 700 lives to date.
ASGCC’s dedicated staff delivers a wide range of direct services including medical case management, transportation, housing assistance, and food and nutrition services. ASGCC utilizes the practice of Harm Reduction, a public health strategy associated with certain risky behaviors. Prevention and testing efforts to fight the spread of HIV and Hepatitis C reach over 100,000 visitors and residents annually.
