World Mind Creation Academy

Founded in 2014, World Mind Creation Academy (www.wmcacademy.org), is a South Seattle youth development organization, founded and led by first generation refugee and immigrant women with a passion to empower underserved youth in our local communities. Our mission is to provide holistic support to youth and families from marginalized communities through culturally responsive services and programs. Our core program the Young Community Builders (YCB) is a youth-centered program that connects young people to staff and mentors who look like them, speak their languages, and/or can relate to their unique experiences as BIPOC immigrants/refugees or the children of refugees and immigrants. The program provides a safe neighborhood space that promotes the social and emotional development of young people through mindfulness, positive identity development, healthy relationships, and creative expression.
