    Since 1973, the San Francisco Mental Health Board (MHB) has been advising the County Board of Supervisors, Health Commission, and Behavioral Health Department on local mental health issues, gaps in services, and best practices. The 17-member board is representative of the diverse voices of consumers, family members, health care professionals and other stakeholders. It is responsible for reviewing and evaluating the community’s mental health and substance use disorder needs, services, facilities and special challenges.
