    About Us

The Youth Action Project, Inc. (YAP) is a community-based organization, established in 1998, that focuses on:

    • youth development
    • educational enhancement
    • economic & community development

YAP uses college students and young adults to help high school students pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE), prepare for college, and learn life/leadership skills. YAP also uses its members to complete community benefit events and empowerment workshops.

Underlying all YAP programming is the belief that positive youth development address the broader development needs of youth, in contrast to deficit based programs which focus soley on youth problems.
