"When I Grow Up I Want To Be" Inc.
Not-for-profit 501C3 org based in the USA seeks volunteers for our January 2013 trip to Ethiopia. Our mission is to provide educational and creative workshops to underprivileged youth in Ethiopia, as well as embarking on other positive development projects. We will be working there from December 30-January 23 in Addis Ababa and conducting workshops in art (of all kinds) at orphanages and community centers, as well as researching well-drilling sites in the norther Tigray region, and reforestation projets in the south. We seek motivated individuals with the following expertise to conduct 1-2 day workshops to youth: Art, photography, animation, music, drama, medical, nutrition, science, math, and reading. This is our 9th year and we are excited about this years trip. In years past we have had several volunteers from AUC in Egypt and also many from the USA. To participate, volunteers must pay their own way to Addis Ababa and budget 20-30 dollars per day. We will have airport pickup/dropoff, a driver with van, a few cool excursions and some meals. Volunteers are welcome to come for all or a part of our effort, and must be screened with a background check/reference.
