Emergent

Emergent is a non-profit market actor, incubated by the Global Development Incubator, that aims to change the tides of forest conservation. Protecting the world’s natural systems and promoting their restoration have the potential to contribute one quarter to over one-third of the total climate change mitigation required by 2030.

Protecting and restoring forests is essential for a sustainable future, ultimately addressing climate change, as well as supporting biodiversity, and improving the livelihoods of local populations. While nature-based solutions have the potential to achieve significant impact, they currently receive only about 3% of climate finance. To address this challenge, Emergent Forest Finance Accelerator will channel new sources of funding to accelerate the speed and scale of tropical forest conservation.
