The mission of Mabuhay Alliance’s Housing Program is to provide equal housing opportunities to the underserved ethnic minority of Pan-Asian Americans, with major focus on Filipino Americans in the major areas of concentration. While the target of our outreach is to the Pan-Asian community, our services are open to all clients of any race or ethnicity. In an effort to make a positive impact on homeownership rates in these areas, Mabuhay Alliance will be providing homebuyer education classes, financial education classes and one-on-one counseling to assist potential homeowners in the home buying process.
Mabuhay Alliance has been providing homebuyer education classes since the organization was formed in 2004. The housing counseling department was formed in 2007 and began to meet with homeowners individually to confront the challenges of the rising foreclosures. Through partnerships and community involvement, Mabuhay Alliance either sponsored or participated in more than 50 foreclosure prevention clinics in the last two years and is now widely recognized around the country in the Pan-Asian media.
Mabuhay Alliance currently provides Financial Education and Homebuyer Education Workshops; Foreclosure Prevention Clinics; Mortgage Default and Delinquency Resolution Counseling, Pre-Purchase and Post Purchase Counseling. There are five offices servicing the States of California and Nevada. The organization leverages relationships with financial institutions, and other corporations to provide the funding to maintain all of its offices.
