Friends of the Jones Library System

  • About Us

The Friends of the Jones Library System, Inc. (The Friends) is a non-profit organization serving as the single fundraising arm of the Jones, Munson Memorial, and North Amherst Libraries in Amherst, Massachusetts. Through annual appeals, events, and book sales, the Friends contributions provide ongoing support for the Library’s operating budget.

In partnership with the Jones Library Board of Trustees, the Friends have launched the Jones Library Capital Campaign

Amherst residents have chosen to leverage public and private funds for an expanded, flexible, welcoming, climate-friendly building that also restores vital aspects of the original 1928 structure. The foundational support for The Jones Library Building Project comes from the Town of Amherst and the MA Board of Library Commissioners. A project of the Friends, the Jones Library Capital Campaign seeks to secure the additional funds needed through institutional support, business contributions, and individual gifts of all sizes.
