About Us

Imagine Art is a Christian ministry, a 501c3, on mission to transform the lives of artists with disabilities for the glory of God. As a creative placemaking initiative, Imagine Art utilizes art as a vehicle for the delivery of its services. The organization has 4 primary programs: Fine Arts Studio; Long Term Care Waiver Services; Peer Support Certification (Training 4 Transformation) and AmeriCorps Demonstration Site.

Fine Arts Services manage the only free, public studio in the city where artists with and without disabilities come to access space, materials, equipment and support from Artistic Directors. Gallery exhibition services highlight works created in the studio. Long Term Care services empower persons with intellectual developmental disabilities to opt out of institutional care to live independently in the community with supports. The program hires attendants, drivers, nurses, behavioral specialist, OT, Speech, PT, Cognitive Therapist and Dietician. The Peer Specialist program is training and certifying persons with intellectual developmental disabilities as Peer Support Specialists through a 9-month course that launches in September 2019. AmeriCorps partners to launch Imagine Art as a 'demonstration site' to demonstrate a new delivery of services for persons with disabilities. That project offers 10 FT positions for Artists in Residence starting in September 2019.
