  • About Us

Provincetown Commons, Inc. is a collaborative workspace for artists, small business, and entrepreneurs.   Our non-profit organization led renovation efforts at the old Community Center, located at 46 Bradford Street and our doors opened to the community in January 2019.

Our open-plan shared art & design studio spaces, for up to ten artists and designers; and coworking space, for up to thirty-four people, operate within a flexible membership model.  In addition, we offer community space that accommodates up to 70 participants, an exhibition hallway, high-speed internet, printing capabilities, and private meeting space.

The Commons is an intergenerational community, open to established Provincetown artists and entrepreneurs while also welcoming the next generation. Building on the traditions and strengths of Provincetown’s history, we’re committed to supporting the town’s effort to both preserve and grow the arts and small business as a vital part of our local economy. We’re excited to help build Provincetown’s capacity as a coworking and art & design space.

Our customers in the coworking space are year-round residents that are telecommuting or running a local business.  We also offer space for tourists that need to check in with the office during their vacation(s) and second home owners that extend their weekend to include Fridays and Mondays in Provincetown.   We have provided space and have served over 500 customers.  We grew from 30 members in 2020 to 100 members in 2023.

Our customers in the shared art & design space are local Provincetown residents, since 2019, we have been a refugee for over 35 artists.   With the recent real estate boom, it has been increasingly difficult for artists to find studio space.

Our customers in the exhibition space are Outer Cape residents & artists that have a strong tie to Provincetown.   We have offered exhibition space to over 250 artists – with 100% of proceeds of a sale of artwork going directly to the artist.  We estimate over $350,000 has gone directly to our local artist community through sales of artworks that were exhibited at The Commons.
