New Pathways for Youth
Our Mission: To empower youth to fulfill their potential through mentoring and life-skill development.
Our Programs: New Pathways for Youth is dedicated to ending the cycle of poverty and violence in our community through relationships. Since 1989, New Pathways has served over 5,500 youth, ages 9-21, in the Greater Phoenix area. Our program uses evidence-based curriculum focused on decision making, life-skill development, and social and emotional learning.
Our Youth: New Pathways serves youth ages 9-21 from background of extreme poverty, homelessness and family violence.
- 9/10 are living in extreme poverty
- 8/10 live in homes of family violence
- 4/10 are likely to drop out of high school
- 7/10 will be first generation college students
Our Mentors: Our volunteer mentors are caring, consistent adults who commit to seeing their youth three times a month for at least a year. One of these visits is to attend a workshop at our community center, where our youth learn social and emotional skills and set achievable goals for themselves with the support of their mentor. The other two outings are up to your youth’s goals and your creativity.
Get Involved: New Pathways for Youth offers Introductions on Tuesday evenings at 6:15 pm and ever 2nd and 4th Thursday morning at 7:30 am. Sessions are held at 1001 E. Pierce Street, Phoenix, 85006.
