Vivery Community believes that food equity is health equity, and that every community deserves reliable access to the nutritious food and services they need to thrive. We equalize access to nutritious foods and social services through innovative technology and community-based programs.

    About Us

We work alongside food banks, food pantries, health providers, and other community partners to equalize access to food at all levels.

Food Access: We help people find the right food by equipping food banks and pantries with real-time tools to share accurate, up-to-date information through our Vivery "Find Food" platform. By providing digital tools like text messaging and automated websites, we make it easy for pantries to share timely updates with their communities, ensuring people find what they need with clarity, care, and dignity. At the same time, our platform strengthens coordination and provides deeper insights across the charitable food system, enabling charitable food providers to make more informed decisions about food needs and gaps. Over the past two years, our platform has grown from a small pilot in Chicago to a trusted national partner, helping more than 13 million neighbors across 34 states connect with the food and services they need through our find food platform. Today, we work with 91 food banks and over 18,000 pantries across the country, with over 470,000 active monthly searches. With the imminent halt of SNAP benefits to 42 million Americans, we’ve seen platform use skyrocket to over 9 searches per second.

Food Security: We partner with local pantries and community-based organizations to provide nutritious foods neighbors in historically-disinvested communities on the South and West Sides of Chicago. In partnership with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, we are currently reaching over 150 neighbors with disabilities in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. Since 2023, we’ve delivered over 200,000 meals while injecting $192,000 into the local economy.

Food is Medicine: We currently partner with Sinai Chicago – the largest private safety net hospital in Illinois – and the Sinai Institute for Urban Health, as well as other healthcare providers, to deliver medically-tailored groceries to food insecure neighbors with chronic conditions. Our hyper-local, trust-based model bridges food, healthcare, and community partners to improve health outcomes, reduce barriers to care, and strengthen community well-being. Since 2024, we’ve delivered over 50,000 meals to over 200 patients managing chronic conditions on the West and South Sides of Chicago.
