S.E.V.A. Travelers (Skilled ۞ Experienced ۞ Volunteers ۞ Abroad)

The mission of SEVA Travelers is to harness the power of pro bono to build the capacity of the nonprofit sector in the Global South. Using skilled volunteers with a passion for being of service while traveling abroad, S.E.V.A. helps social entrepreneurs around the globe to achieve greater scale and impact. By sharing our expertise with social sector organizations in low- and middle-income countries, SEVA Travelers’ pro bono consultants, coaches and trainers are empowering the next generation of change agents with the skills they need to succeed.

The word 'seva' (सेवा) is an ancient Sanskrit word which refers to the act of selfless service. S.E.V.A. Travelers are high-skilled volunteers that bring deep expertise in the areas of nonprofit management, fundraising, and outcome measurement to strengthen social sector organizations in the Global South.

Pro-bono Consulting Services

S.E.V.A. Travelers offers nonprofits in Asia, Latin America, and Africa free consulting services to build organizational capacity and increase impact. This pro bono support includes:

• Grant proposal writing (and training staff how to write winning grant proposals)
• Foundation and corporate funding prospect research
• Fundraising strategy development
• Website design and development
• Social media, marketing, and communications support
• Fundraising Databases/software
• Designing Monitoring, Learning & Evaluation systems

SEVA Travelers has partnered with GlobalGiving to identify great nonprofits in low- and middle-income countries. Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. Thanks to this exciting partnership, S.E.V.A. Travelers offers over 180 host sites to choose from in about 30 low- and middle-income countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa.
