  • Mission

Helping Hands Rescue is dedicated to saving as many companion animal lives as possible by placing homeless animals in permanent homes that are the best possible fit for the pet and the family.

    About Us

Helping Hands Pet Rescue is a primarily volunteer run non-profit pet rescue. Most of our animals are rescued from certain death at our local shelters. We pull animals directly from the euthanasia lists and occasionally take in animals from the public in extreme and exceptional circumstances. All of our animals are completely vetted and are spayed/neutered prior to being put-up for adoption.

We do not have an adoption facility, so we do most of our adoptions at the PetSmart off of Archer Road in Butler Plaza. At these events we need a lot of hands for things to go smoothly- everything from dog walking, socializing cats and kittens, supervising puppies and assisting with potential adoptiers. We welcome individuals looking to volunteer as well as groups- just email with group availability. We also have a great Jr Volunteer program and welcome all ages (with a parent or guardian) to experience the joy of giving back to our community through rescue.

In 2015 we placed over one thousand cats and dogs in forever homes!

We are a Maddie's Pet Rescue Foundation Partner that seeks to help our community get to no-kill by 2017 by doing our part in the mission to have NO MORE HOMELESS PETS in our community.
