Americans 4 Equality

  • Mission

Americans 4 Equality (A4E) is a King County-based, BIPOC-led nonprofit providing free AI, technology and workforce training for adults and youth from underserved communities. With 97% of our staff reflecting the communities we serve, we bring the cultural trust and proximity that make real learning outcomes possible.

We exist to open doors into the tech sector for people who have historically been locked out of it. Each of our programs and services are provided at no cost to students, removing the financial barriers that have long made high-quality, workforce-aligned training inaccessible. Our programs span workforce development, skills training, digital literacy, and bootcamp training leading to industry-recognized certifications in lucrative career fields including cybersecurity and data analytics. Graduates gain the skills, credentials, and support needed to pursue high-demand technology roles with salaries often exceeding $90,000, fundamentally changing their family tree and building long-term economic stability.

Across seven cohorts, we have trained nearly 600 learners with an 88% completion rate, nearly double the regional average. Our CEO brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience cultivated at Microsoft, Bank of America, and Avaya, leveraging deep expertise and powerful networks to open real doors for graduates and inspire them to aim higher. Our work has been recognized with a $2.2M federal ETA award championed by Senator Patty Murray.

With a platform built to support 2,500 learners annually, A4E is a proven model: built for scale, designed for permanence. We strive to help families achieve real economic mobility and strengthen long-term prosperity of communities across King County.

    About Us

Americans 4 Equality’s goal is to expand access to the technology economy by removing the barriers that prevent many individuals from pursuing careers in technology and digital fields. The organization focuses on increasing economic mobility for underserved communities by providing practical, workforce-aligned training that leads to real career opportunities. A core goal of Americans 4 Equality is to make high-demand technology skills accessible to people who have historically been excluded from the tech sector due to financial barriers, lack of access to education, or limited exposure to career pathways in technology. Through free and low-cost programs in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, and software development, the organization equips participants with industry-relevant skills that employers are actively seeking. In addition to technical training, Americans 4 Equality aims to bridge the gap between learning and employment. Programs are designed to provide participants with hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to real-world technology environments through internships, applied projects, and mentorship. This approach ensures that learners not only gain knowledge but also develop the practical experience and confidence needed to transition into the workforce. Another key organizational goal is to strengthen workforce readiness and digital literacy in an economy increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Americans 4 Equality emphasizes responsible and practical use of AI tools so participants can adapt to the evolving nature of work and remain competitive in modern labor markets. The organization also seeks to build long-term partnerships with employers, educational institutions, and community organizations to create sustainable pathways into technology careers. By aligning training with industry needs and regional workforce demands, Americans 4 Equality helps ensure that participants move into stable, high-demand roles that support long-term economic mobility. Ultimately, Americans 4 Equality aims to create a more inclusive technology workforce by expanding access to opportunity, empowering individuals with marketable skills, and helping communities participate fully in the digital economy.
