About Us

<code>Alkhaimah - the Association for Education & Development was established as a registered, non-profit organization in 2002 by concerned, Bedouin local residents as a response to years of continuous neglect by both the Taibeh Municipality and the Israeli government. Based on the belief that every child has the right to receive proper education and equal opportunity to develop his or her skills, Alkhaimah is creating viable solutions for advancing the scholastic ability of each student. The organization has reached even further, working to ensure every citizen is granted their legal right to access governmental services such as education, health care and Social Security. The organization has wide support among the younger generation, and is the only organization with accomplishments in Community Building and in Youth Education in the Bedouin community of Taibeh and other Arab villages in Israel. Since 2009, Alkhaimah has expanded its activities to include more Arab villages in Israel. Today, Alkhaimah is running projects in various areas of Israel in order to aid children in obtaining proper education and support Community Development.<br />Aim/Mission Statement<br />Alkhaimah believes that education is the backbone of Community Development.<br />The aim of the organization is to strengthen the education and giving them tools to lead the community to a better life, improving both decision-making and social infrastructure for Bedouin women. At the same time Alkhaimah wants to keep the elderly generation’s respect for the Bedouin tradition and culture so that the younger generation will not forget their origin and history.<br />Goals<br /> To strengthen the education among children, particularly among girls<br /> To encourage more women to take the lead in the community<br /> To promote equal rights for women and men in the Bedouin community<br /> To empower the Bedouin community in aspect of education, rights, infrastructure<br /> To strengthen the presence and social activities of the Bedouin community<br /> To increase visibility of the Bedouin community in the Israeli Society and other social networks.<br /> To build an academic cadre in the Bedouin community<br /> To network and build an overall strategy with other organizations working for the Bedouin community<br /><br /></code>
