Educating Communities for Parenting

Educating Communities for Parenting is a private, non-profit organization which has provided high quality youth development and parenting education throughout the area for well over 30 years. Centered on the belief that the parent/child relationship is the foundation upon which all human relationships are built, the mission of ECP is to teach children, youth, families and communities about the nature of and practices within healthy relationships. ECP emphasizes the critical importance of nurturance, the need to care deeply about self and others, the ability to think critically, and to solve conflicts non-violently. As a result of its reputation for providing exceptional programming and service delivery, ECP serves nearly 2000 clients annually at over 35 sites reaching a diverse range of populations including elementary and middle school students, teen mothers and fathers; adjudicated delinquent youth; young adults aging out of the foster care system. ECP is committed to helping youth and teen parents learn the skills necessary so that they may grow to become responsible productive adults.
