  • Mission

Spark Newton is a 501c3 non-profit organization building community through free arts and culture events, engaging public art, and enlivened public spaces. Our work enhances the quality of life in Newton by sparking joy, inspiring creativity, and fostering meaningful connections. Formerly known as Newton Community Pride.

    About Us

Free and Accessible Arts & Culture Events

Arts and culture have the power to connect people, celebrate diversity, and foster understanding. Spark Newton harnesses that power, year-round, with our signature events: Winterfest, Fall Village Concerts, Black History Month programs, and Haiku Newton. Collaborating with the City of Newton and our community partners, we also provide funding and support to bring the annual Festival of the Arts to life.

Engaging Public Art & Public Spaces

Public spaces are canvases waiting to be filled. Each year, Spark Newton organizes public art initiatives, such as the #PictureUsNewton selfie stations and Celebrate Newton Banners, to bring color and vitality to our parks, streets, and plazas. We plant beautiful gardens in Newton Centre and throughout the city. And, as the lead financial sponsor of City programs like Artful Pianos and Halloween Window Painting, we help bring creativity to unexpected places.

    Community Grants & Scholarships

Spark Newton fuels creativity by offering annual micro-grants to local groups and individuals, along with scholarships for graduating seniors pursuing the arts. Through these initiatives, we help Newton’s artistic community share their extraordinary talents and nurture the next generation of creators.
