Founded in 1975, Fondo Per l'Ambiente Italiano and Friends of FAI is a private, non-profit trust, that receives Italian sites of historic, artistic and naturalist value through donations, bequests or loans for use, restores them, opens them to the public and ensures that everyone can enjoy them. To date, FAI has restored and opened to the public 22 properties. Friends of FAI, West Coast, is the American West Coast liason for FAI.
