Benicia Main Street

MISSION STATEMENT

Through a joint effort of the public and private sectors, Main Street was created to preserve the heritage of historic downtown Benicia, to promote economic prosperity, and to restore the downtown's identity as the viable town center according to the National Main Street Program's four-point approach to revitalization.

Benicia Main Street is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Benicia. Benicia was chosen to participate in the California Main Street Program, part of the state and national network of grassroots downtown revitalization projects started and overseen by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The four-point Main Street program which includes Promotions, Design, Economic Restructuring, and Organization builds on existing resources, with a step-by-step approach, fosters community involvement, and builds partnerships with other existing organizations for the long-term benefit of downtown.

Benicia Main Street is funded through fundraising events, private business partnerships, and contributions from the City of Benicia.
