About Us

Our vision - a world without breast cancer. Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Since its founding in 1982, Komen has funded more than $800 million in research and provided more than $1.6 billion in funding to screening, education, treatment and psychosocial support programs serving millions of people in more than 30 countries worldwide. Komen was founded by Nancy G. Brinker, who promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would end the disease that claimed Suzy’s life.

Susan G. Komen® North Florida:
-Is the local source for funding breast cancer detection and support projects
-Serves nearly 1.3 million residents living in North Florida, where as approximately 50.3% of the population are women
-Funds vital screening mammograms, diagnostic testing and treatment through annual Community Grants Program
-Empowers North Florida residents with information about the importance of early detection and being active in their breast health
