About Us

 

BACKGROUND OF BUGEMA COMMUNITY CHILD BASED ORGANIZATION (BCCBO) PROFILE

Bugema Community Child Based Organization is a nonprofit - making organization, which was incepted in 2012 by a group of Social Workers, Counselors, Community Development Workers and Psychiatrists, after noticing, identifying, realizing and analyzing that there was / is  a great need to help both vulnerable and disadvantaged children such as orphans, homeless, disabled and those suffering from various illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, among others, to access better health care services, quality education, better nutrition, and to nurture their talents through music, dance, drama, sports and games, and to protect them against domestic violence,  child labour and violation of their rights such as the right to life, food, protection, health, education, play among others.

Bugema Community Child Based Organization (BCCBO) is fully registered with the Government of The Republic of Uganda with certificate number CD-017, 2012.

We build families and cater for children in need and shape their future so that they may come out as citizens who can contribute to the well-being of the society and the world at large.

To produce productive children who are healthy and literate for better performance in social, political, economic and spiritual activities in the future.

 

BUGEMA COMMUNITY CHILD BASED ORGANIZATION AREA OF OPERATION

Bugema Community Child Based Organization (BCCBO) operates in Bugema community and its neighboring communities such as Kalungu community, Kamira community, Bunsule community, Kitanda community, Busiika community, Senero community, Lukyamu community, Kamuli community, Vvumba community, Kibanga community, Kiwangula community, Busoke community, and Namuganja community.

VOLUNTEERING AND INTERNSHIPS AT BUGEMA COMMUNITY CHILD BASED ORGANIZATION (BCCBO) UGANDA.

 Bugema Community Child Based Organization (BCCBO) welcomes every person from the entire world who wishes to provide /offer services to our clients (both vulnerable and disadvantaged children) and the community as a whole and well as those who wish to do their internships with us through voluntary work approach.

 

AREAS OF VOLUNTEERING AND INTERNSHIPS AT BUGEMA COMMUNITY CHILD BASED ORGANIZATION

HIV/AIDS PROGRAM

Ø  Sensitizing communities about the cause, spread, effects and what can be done to avoid / reduce the AIDS pandemic in our communities.

Ø  Involving in home care and support for children living with HIV /AIDS.

Ø  Providing counseling and psychological support for the children living with HIV /AIDS.

Ø  Helping in the management and prevention of HIV / AIDS opportunistic infections.

Ø  Helping in prevention and control of HIV / AIDS infections.

Ø  Sensitizing and advocating for the legal rights of the people living with HIV / AIDS.

Ø  Nutrition for the people living with HIV / AIDS.

 

SPORTS, GAMES, MUSIC, DANCE AND DRAMA PROGRAM

Ø  Training children in football.

Ø  Training children in netball.

Ø  Training children in volleyball.

Ø  Training children in basketball.

Ø  Training children in athletics.

Ø  Training children in music, dance and drama.

Ø  Training children in judo game.

Ø  Training children in table tennis.

Ø  Training children in badminton.

Ø  Training children in beach football.

Ø  Training children in chess.

Ø  Training children in other games and sports.

 

CHILDREN’S RIGHTS AND CHILD PROTECTION PROGRAM

Ø  Involving in advocacy for children’s rights campaigns in communities.

Ø   Involving in domestic violence against children in communities.

Ø  Involving in child protection campaigns in our communities.

Ø  Involving in efforts directed at reducing and eliminating child labour in communities.

Ø   Advocacy for the rights of the people living with HIV /AIDS, and those suffering from other illnesses.

Ø  Working with local authorities towards promotion, observance and protection of children’s rights in communities.

Ø  Referring children, parents and guardians whose rights have been violated.

 

CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM

Ø  Involving in nutrition campaigns for the children / people living with HIV/AIDS in communities.

Ø  Sensitizing communities about the basic facts about nutrition.

Ø  Sensitizing mothers on the methods of complimentary feeding of their babies after six (6) months.

Ø  Sensitizing community leaders in the prevention and control of malnutrition among children.

Ø  Sensitizing communities about locally available complimentary feeding practices.

 

PRIMARY HEALTH CARE PROGRAM

Ø  Involving in adequate safe water supply and sanitation campaigns in our communities.

Ø  Involving in immunization against the six (6) vaccine preventable diseases campaigns in our communities.

Ø  Involving in maternal and child health / family planning in our communities.

Ø  Spearheading efforts directed at nutrition and food production in our communities.

Ø  Appropriate treatment of minor diseases and injury.

Ø  Prevention and control of locally endemic diseases in our communities.

Ø  Involving in Community Based Rehabilitation efforts and campaigns.

Ø  Provision of mental health services in our communities.

Ø  Spearheading Health Education efforts and campaigns in our communities.

Ø  Spearheading efforts directed at STD / HIV/AIDS control and prevention.

Ø  Involving in oral and dental health campaigns in our communities.

 

INCOME GENERATING PROGRAM FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

Ø  Involving in identifying suitable income generating projects in our communities.

Ø  Involving in identifying all the resources needed for the establishment of an income generating project.

Ø  Involving in identifying the people to be trained in income generating projects in our communities.

Ø  Involving in identifying training grounds.

Ø  Involving in training of the people to acquire skills for the establishment of income generating projects.

Ø  Writing reports on any established income generating projects.

Ø  Carrying out research and needs assessment on various projects of BCCBO.

 

EDUCATION PROGRAM

Ø  Involving in school construction fundraising for children with special needs.

Ø  Sponsoring children who are totally vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Ø  Teaching pupils in various subjects.
