Vermont Long Term Care Ombudsman Project

  • Mission

Vermont Legal Aid provides free civil legal services to people throughout Vermont who are poor, elderly, or have disabilities and who would otherwise be denied justice or the necessities of life. Through legal representation, community education, public policy and legislative advocacy, Vermont Legal Aid asserts the social and economic interests of our clients and seeks to address the causes of poverty, discrimination and inequality.

    About Us

The Vermont Long Term Care Ombudsman Project (VOP) is housed within Vermont Legal Aid, Inc (a non-profit organization). The VOP advocates for people living in Vermont's nursing homes, residential care homes, and assisted living facilities. Ombudsmen promote and protect the rights, dignity, safety and quality of life of residents in long term care facilities through advocacy and outreach. Our services are free and confidential.
