  • About Us

South Coast Code promotes racial and gender equality in the fields of science, technology engineering, and math (STEM) by providing computer science education (CS) to underserved students, strengthening the communities we serve. Our flagship program, NOLA_CODE, provides instruction in CS to K-8th grade students across Greater New Orleans. Topics we teach include coding, circuitry, robotics, and more. We provide programming directly to schools and community centers—the places where students already spend time—thus significantly lowering the barriers to entry faced by students from groups historically underrepresented in STEM fields including African-Americans, Latinos, and girls.

Our programs use today’s technology to inspire creative thinking in young learners and empower them to be leaders that create the technology of the future.
