Our mission is to positively impact, strengthen, and uplift the Deaf community by tackling hunger, promoting literacy, ensuring access to resources, building bridges while breaking down communication barriers, and advocating for equity and inclusion.
About Us
Positively Impacting Communities (PIC) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, California, dedicated to uplifting, empowering, and advocating for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Founded in 2014, PIC exists to Build Bridges and Break Barriers through programs that promote equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
We proudly serve Deaf+ children, youth, families, and seniors across Los Angeles County and beyond through initiatives that address critical needs while empowering lifelong growth:
- Silent Plates: Providing nutritious food and hope to Deaf families facing hunger and poverty.
- PIC Me Reading: Enhancing literacy and language development for Deaf children ages 5–12.
- PIC Me Up: Partnering with LA Metro to ensure accessible transportation for the Deaf community.
- PIC A Seed & Watch It Grow: Promoting wellness, sustainability, and family engagement through gardening and mental health awareness.
- B.R.I.D.G.E. Deaf Advocacy Program (Believing in Rights, Inclusion, Deaf Growth & Equity): Empowering Deaf individuals through advocacy, leadership development, and community engagement to ensure their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
At PIC, we believe everyone deserves access, opportunity, and a voice. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our mission, helping us create change, build stronger communities, and ensure that no one is left behind.
